Cutting-Edge Lab Seeks Mouse Technician
Principal Responsibilities:
• We are looking for a highly motivated and responsible researcher for the set up and maintenance of a germ-free mouse colony. Previous experience with germ-free colony management is preferred, but not required.
• The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a large, interactive laboratory team studying T lymphocyte and lymphoid organ development, epigenetic regulation, and host-pathogen interactions.
• The candidate should be able to coordinate mouse breeding programs, genotyping, and phenotyping of selected strains of mice, and must maintain a mouse database.
• The candidate should be able to train technicians to assist in breeding and analyzing mutant strains of mice.
Preferred Qualifications:
• B.S. required, M.S. or Ph.D. preferred
• Three or more years experience in transgenic mouse technology
• Excellent technical and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and cooperate productively with group members, and should enjoy the challenges of mouse research
